Equine Work Experience
- Feed horses.
- Muck out stalls.
- Turn out horses to paddocks.
- Maintain clean, neat, and hazard-free animal areas to protect individual health and wellbeing.
- Put on and remove fly protection in the summer and blankets in the winter.
- Track metrics such as overall health, behaviors, and diet to isolate and address concerns.
- Treat minor horse injuries.
- Follow exercise training programs laid out by the trainer, exercising horses through walk, trot, and canter gates.
- Assist with competition prep including packing, loading, grooming, tacking, and schedules.

Type of Ride Work
I ride Western on Quarter Horses in rodeo events such as barrels and poles. I have worked through naughty behaviors with a horse, including bucking, not standing at a mounting block, picking up incorrect leads, and anxiety around certain tasks. I have ground-handled other breeds, including Appys, Standardbreds, Draft Cross, Arabian Cross, Warmbloods, and ponies.
Competition Details
Have a Masters in Festival Production which utilizes all of the same skill sets as equine competitions including time management, logistics, emergency planning, interpersonal skills, business management skills, technology skills, and physical and mental stamina.
I compete in Barrel Racing as a novice - am not a part of any organizations.
