Equine Work Experience
I started as a working student for a USDF silver medalist at a farm with about 15 horses (turn out, feeding, mucking, tacking up, some riding, some clipping, bandaging, and other routine barn work). Then I moved to work for a riding school with about 50 horses. I did mostly grooming, turn out, night checks, assisting veterinarians. I also took lessons with a USDF gold medalist. After that, I went to study Veterinary Science Technology while taking dressage lessons occasionally. I've been working full-time as a licensed veterinary technician for 11 years now. I really miss working at a barn though, and would really like to return to it.
