Duties of Current Occupation

Running a small full care horse boarding facility, running YouPick raspberry patch, general farm/agricultural work.

Equine Work Experience

I learned all about horse care from an early age, since my parents have always had horses at home. Throughout junior high and high school, I worked at my local stable doing chores in exchange for hunt seat lessons. Upon graduation, I took a full-time position at the barn, doing everything from turnout to vet and farrier visits. I worked there for four years before moving on to become self-employed with my own stable on the family farm. We currently house 13 horses. I have 3 years of experience show grooming for someone that drives a pair of horses in pleasure driving. I have also worked at a local tack store.

Currently: I help out on my family's farm doing agricultural/farming work and help run our small stable that mostly houses retired horses or leisure riders. That was a gap that needed filling in our community with plenty of show barns to go around.

Specialities

Combined driving competition experience to the preliminary level, pair driving experience, grooming, and managing stables.

Type of Ride Work

I grew up riding hunters and dressage, then switched gears to carriage driving over ten years ago, starting with pleasure driving and then getting involved in combined driving. I have experience driving horse and pony pairs in addition to singles. I am passionate about ridden and driven dressage and like to go on trail rides/drives.

Competition Details

Competed in the hunter ring for many years. Showed up to first-level dressage. Have shown in pleasure driving competitions including Walnut Hill and Orleton. I now show in combined driving at prelim level.

Currently: I own a 10 y/o Connemara Pony I trained to drive myself and we are now competing in combined driving at the preliminary level. I just got a new project pony: a weanling Icelandic Horse!
