Duties of Current Occupation
Being responsible for anything medical for the herd, i.e. minor cuts, medications, sedation, feed/supplement program, Major injury maintenance, teach riding to ~30 resort guests a day, and overseeing the guests and horses safety while riding.
Equine Work Experience
I have managed equine summer camps, taught beginner riding lessons, been a lesson groom for a show barn while still in high school, interned over the summer caring for my college program horses, learned to manage and keep records for 40+ horses from feed management, shoeing, and riding, worked and interned at a high end junior eq/hunter/jumper show barn as a groom with small management duties, and currently am a wrangler at a ranch/resort with 100+ horses.
Specialities
I believe I thrive the most when I am managing horses as I love keeping records, histories, etc. and track the smallest of details. I am a fast learner and work self-sufficiently, but I can communicate well with others.
Type of Ride Work
I have been riding for 15 years, riding both western and english, but favoring english riding. I have ridden ex-grand prix horses, medal/maclay champions, and other horses straight off the show circuit that were donated to my college. This also included some horses that needed to be put on a rehab riding schedule due to an injury, or handling horses with mental barriers. I have worked with green 2-3 year old warmbloods after they were broke to ride. I am now riding western up to 6 hours a day.
Competition Details
I competed in IEA and IHSA, small schooling shows, western/hunter under saddle local shows, and one AQHA competition. I have been a groom for upper level junior riders and trainers for shows such as WEF and GLEF.
