Qualifications

I rode and studied briefly at the Savannah College of Art and Design. I eventually transfered out to University of Washington for a biology degree instead and began riding IHSA there.

Equine Work Experience

I began riding at age 8 and competed in Children's Hunter as a youth. I rode at Duncraven Stables with Nancy Wallis as a high schooler. For college, I went to the University of Washington, rode in IHSA and eventually started teaching English and Western for Ready2Ride Training out in Washington State. In addition to teaching the youths, I was assistant trainer and worked with young horses. I am looking to gain the complete set of training knowledge, I still need supervision, but fear not I am a very brave rider and I make a great test dummy. I pride myself on my ability to work with a variety of different horses, rather than being married to a personal horse.

Specialities

Hunter Jumpers, Western Performance. Assistant Trainer. I have been working with horses for over 20 years and began teaching out of college. I have managed college horse shows, competed in IHSA as a college student, as a youth I competed in the Children's Hunters all over the East Coast, I am very familiar with the show circuit lifestyle. I really enjoy teaching youth their foundations and working with young horses. I am a dynamic asset to any team.

Type of Ride Work

English Hunter/Jumpers. Up to 3ft. I am game to go bigger but lack the steed and prefer to work with a variety of horses rather than advancing up to bigger sticks on one steed. Western Performance. I have foundational experience with Western Performance, I really accredit this type of training to teaching me to ride with true collection and I found that my English got better as I learned to really ride with more leg and less hand. Soft hand soft hips. Always.

Competition Details

Yes. Yes and Yes. I am intimately familiar with the Beginner Hunters through the Children's Hunter show circuits. I understand the thirst and the show lifestyle.
