Duties of Current Occupation
I am a student from Queen's University, in Kingston, Ontario, however since COVID 19 I have been studying online and taking advantage of numerous opportunities to better my horsemanship. I am a passionate horse woman and hope to grow.
Equine Work Experience
I have been around horses since before I could walk. I grew up on a stud farm in Northern Iran, have experience handling stallions, broodmares, young horses, backing horses and desensitizing them using natural horsemanship techniques I have learned from all over the world. I spent three years at the Madeira School in McLean Virginia, where I grew as a rider on the flat and over fences. I continued to ride as I moved to Ontario riding at Maple Lane Farm with GP rider Vanessa Hutchinson.
Specialities
Working with young horses.
Type of Ride Work
Have ridden a variety of horses in my lifetime, including hot-blooded horses in Iran such as Arabians, Turkemans and Caspians. Many of these horses were difficult stallions. Have exercise ridden certain racehorses, jumpers, endurance horses etc. I have started approximately 6 horses, including stallions, however they were mainly endurance horses and not high level competitors.
Once I arrived in my family's home state of Virginia (& then Ontario), I strengthened my flatwork, and jumping.
Competition Details
I have competed in individual shows, hunter/jumper in Virginia riding with the Madeira School. I was a member of the IEA team 2017-2019 representing the Madeira School. I then represented Queen's University from 2019-2020 in the Ontario Collegiate Equestrian Association in the Entry division, ending the year as Champion in Ontario.
