Equine Work Experience

resume, riding videos and references on request

I have worked in the UK, Ireland and currently am in the USA. Racing, showjumping, Eventing, hunting, breeding, riding schools, pony camps, breaking/schooling, dealing, teaching.....I've owned my own horses on and off over the years also. I have managed several barns, been head groom/Instructor also so I am confident and capable in taking sole charge of a barn. I have managed facilities for people ranging from non horse-riding owners up to Olympic showjumpers. I have mostly competed in showjumping, Eventing, Hunter Trials and hunted for several years in Ireland. I have taught extensively since getting my BHS exams when I was in my early twenties. I love teaching and lecturing and in general educating people about all horse related topics. I have broken a lot of young horses and on the other end of the scale I spent 7 years caring for elderly, retired and sick horses.

My resume and references are available on request.

Specialities

Teaching/ Coaching/Training - Be it on the horse or in the barn I love to watch people learn! I have also taught and lectured for B.H.S. exams. Grooming - Having worked for an Olympic rider and multiple international riders, my standard of turnout is exceptionally high. I am great at clipping and keeping a horse "show ready" in appearance. Manager - I am confident and competent at scheduling, organizing, delegating and running a tight ship. A perfectionist. I thrive under pressure.

Type of Ride Work

I can flat and school horses to the highest standards (Olympic and Grand Prix horses), hack and do conditioning work. I am proficient at groundwork and breaking young horses, I do a lot of restarting OTTB's. I can confidently jump 1.30M and ride up to 3rd level dressage.

Competition Details

Well, in the span of 25 years and three countries I have competed in novice and local Dressage competitions, Showjumping of varying grades and categories from Newcomers/Novice to Grades C & D to High Adults, Mini Prix, Hunter Trials, local shows etc. I have hundreds of ribbons and many trophies. In the USA I have competed schooling and rated jumpers up to 1.20M and evented through Training Level. Registered with USEF/USHJA/USEA.
