Duties of Current Occupation
-Nursing care of large animal patients -Oversee night shift staff (3-5 people): provide training, implement plans for incoming emergencies, ensure timely/accurate communication between technical staff and doctors, monitor billing
Equine Work Experience
-Large animal nursing in large university teaching hospital -Equine nursing in large university equine medical center -20 years horse handling experience -Took care of a barn with 54 stalls and 20 field boarded horses alone 1 day a week and worked the school barn 3 days per week. -Have worked in dressage training and Hannoverian/Oldenburg breeding facility -Comfortable teaching beginner-intermediate riders (Up-downers to riders jumping around 2'6"-2'9" courses) -Experienced caring for and grooming foxhunters -Administrative assistant experience in large lesson program (approximately 300 clients)
Specialities
Veterinary Nursing Extensive horse handling in stressful situations (hospital environment) including stallions, mares and foals, neglected/unhandled animals, racing thoroughbreds, polo ponies, cattle, camelids, goats/sheep, swine -Oversee night shift staff Hunter/Jumper experience (mostly at the local level but would love to further my knowledge) Also interested in learning more about the TB industry and breeding farms
Type of Ride Work
Like to ride mostly hunters with some jumpers too. Have catch ridden quite a bit and enjoy it immensely.
