Equine Work Experience
I worked at a barn where I lived. I would clean stalls, clean tack, feed all animals, turn out horses, bring in horses, tack up horses and, exercise horses. I have been riding horses since I was 3 years old (I will be 18 this year).
Type of Ride Work
I started riding at 3 years old on a pony but quickly moved to larger horses. I have ridden all kinds of horses. I have ridden problem horses, of the track thoroughbreds, calm horses, lazy horses, crazy horses, stubborn horses, young horses, and green horses. I have done flat work and some jumping. I have also broken/ tamed/ gentled/ started horses.
Competition Details
I have competed in one show but have been to many shows with friends who were competing. I have worked for my friends while at shows where I would groom horses and tack them up before their round and I would untack horses and hose them off and walk them after their round. I would also pack and unpack the trailer and load and unload the horses.
