Duties of Current Occupation
I managed a 20+ horse barn wherein I taught lessons and trained horses daily, took clients to 3 Day Events as their sole trainer and competed client horses. I have groomed for multiple horses and riders at FEI events through the 4* Level.
Equine Work Experience
I have been riding since age 7, began as a working student at age 10, and have worked at every barn I have ridden at since. I have experience in every position at a barn including mucking, grooming, barn managing, nutrition management, exercise riding, training, teaching, organizing, and more. I have been fortunate enough to clinic and learn from eventing champions Boyd Martin, Tamie Smith, David O'Connor, and Gina Miles. I am dedicated to always learning more and bettering myself as a rider, trainer, and horseman everyday. I spent many years working to ride the horses no one else wanted, therefore learning to handle the sensitive, traumatized, difficult rides. I have also been able to ride high class, imported client horses who were able to teach me the higher levels of dressage and jumping. I firmly believe in the importance of solidifying the basics before moving up the levels and focus on correct, kind horsemanship with a knowledge of just how big a difference the details make.
Specialities
I grew up learning on young, green, horses from auction who helped me when I started riding highly sensitive and athletic, young event horses. I have ridden everything from 4 year old green horses and thoroughbreds straight off the track, to seasoned schoolmasters. I have managed a barn team of 3, organizing their work schedule alongside a lesson and training schedule for 30 lessons students and 15 full training clients. I have extremely organized and detail oriented.
Type of Ride Work
As a kid I competed in hunt seat, stock seat, trail, driving miniature horses, dressage, and gaming. Once I turned 18 I switched focus to eventing and now have experience competing in jumpers (up to 1.0m), eventing (up to training level), and dressage (up to first level).
I have schooled horses through 1.20m jumpers, preliminary cross country questions, and fourth level dressage. I have experience riding horses as young as 4 and have spent most of my time riding green or problem horses.
Competition Details
I have been competing for over 15 years and have been competing in eventing since 2018. I have been a traveling groom at a 4* Event barn where I also rode their highest level competition horses as well as client horses. I have experience as the coach/trainer taking clients to low level events, leading them through course walks and warm ups. I love competitions and they motivate me to be a better rider and trainer.
