Qualifications

For the past 7 years I have been working for local barns. One barn was a 60 acre barn bordering a 450 acre park. We had an average of 25 horses. I was the most senior employee and had a horse at the barn. This barn was home to a variety of horses and riders. At the same time I worked for an Olympic level Dressage barn. We had 20 acres and an average of 15 horses. This was a training barn. Those barns sold so my horse and I are at a Dressage barn very close to where I live.

Duties of Current Occupation

Ensure horses get proper food and water, clean stalls, turnout, exercise, ride, and health care

Equine Work Experience

Horses have been my obsession since birth. I had a pony when I was very young. I got my first real horse, a 17hand OTTB when I was 8 years old. I've had a few horses since then and loved them all! One of the barns I worked at bred a horse and I got to help care for her and her filly! I've worked with all sorts of horses from older trail horses to top Dressage horses. For years I was in charge of an average of 40 horses.

Specialities

Being a single mother has lead me to work with children. (My daughter is in college now.)

Had horses since very young age. Had my first pony as a 4 year old girl. Got my first of the track thoroughbred at age 8. Spent my teenage years riding trails. Started training as a hunter jumper in my 20s. Started training dressage in my 30s. Love to ride! Love to be around horses.

Type of Ride Work

When I was a child I took basic English lessons. In my teens I enjoyed trail riding. In my early 20's I took Hunter Jumper lessons. For the past few years I've been trail riding and taking Dressage lessons. I just love to ride!
