Equine Work Experience

Whilst working at The Kings Troop RHA my responsibilites included: • General stable duties, ensuring the stables are kept immaculate and presentable. • Ensuring that all treatments and medications are given to the horses as necessary. • Making sure the horses are given the correct feed plan and adjusting their diets where needs be.
• In charge of exercising my given three horses every morning to ensure they are fit for their duties, this included; lunging, track work, schooling and jumping. • Ceremonial duties, some of which included; The Queens’ Birthday Parade, Trooping of the Colour and Horse Guards Parade. • Making sure the horses in my care are always turned out to the highest standard, making sure they are ready for parades and ceremonial duties. This included clipping, hogging, bandaging and hot towelling. • Ensuring that everything in the Horsebox is packed correctly for parades and stay away shows. . Building fitness programmes and assisting in rehabilitation.

  • Whilst in the Kings Troop I done many performances at County Shows.
Competition Details

The last year I’ve been competing British Showjumping up to 1.10 on various horses, as well as schooling and groundwork. I am the captain of the London Fire Brigade equestrian team where I manage the team and compete in services classes, one of these being The Royal Windsor Horse Show Services Cup where we came 3rd. Experience starting and breaking a few show jumpers. I have worked for international show jumpers in the UK and in Europe at FEI events.
