Having grown up in Pony Club I established a firm basis in horsemanship, dedication and hard-work. Each summer I have based myself with event rider Wills Oakden, gaining invalable experience in handling and training a range of horses from unbroken and inexperienced to advanced horses. During my gap year I worked for Harry Meade, further cementing skills in turning out horses to an immaculate standard for advertising and competing, everyday management and maintenance of the yard and horses, and excersie of a variety of horses. Riding out National Hunt racers for Lucinda Russell an working with polo ponies on Thom Bell's yard in Kinross has further heightened my experience in the equine industry.
I am adept to long hours and hard work. Very driven, I find huge satisfaction in helping horses to progress up the levels, and in ensuring their health and happiness on a daily basis. Having gained my Green Card with Riding for the Disabled Association, I have had the opportunity to further develop my communication skills. I am used to dealing and communicating with clients, owners and sponsors, and gained valuable experience working as a Head Girl for Wills Oakden over a summer period.
Experience in schooling, jumping, cross country training of event horses, as well as riding out of National Hunt racers, and training polo ponies.
I have evented to 1*/intermediate level, representing Scotland at the National Championships in 2015, followed by a placing just outside of the top 20 at Blair Castle International. We placed 4th with a double clear in our first intermediate, and were 11th at the Scottish Championships. I have now invested in a young horse so am currently working him at grassroots level, and have recently gained qualification for both the regional final and the Scottish Championships.
