I’m 19 and looking for a working student position to further my riding skills. I have just started cantering, and I aspire to be a trainer. I am motivated to make a career in the equine industry!

I have currently studied these subjects this year and awaiting results: Maths(National 5), English(Higher),Biology(Higher), Geography(Higher) and travel and tourism.
I have currently went into 6th year at Forfar Academy and looking to apply my skills that I have developed over the years.
As an active member of Angus Pony Cub (2004-Present) I have gained many experiences and qualifications, I am current working towards my B test. Qualifications include: C+ Riding and Care, Pony Club riding and road safety, British Horse Society riding and road safety, and numerous stable management and achievement badges.
Due to my family owning and running a small livery yard business I have become orientated with horses and been riding since the age of two, I can turn horses out to a high standard. I competed at British show jumping where I competed at 90cm/1m level winning at Scottish Horse of the year show. Also successfully competed at British Eventing 90 and trained over BE 100 and novice fences. I then competed at Blair Athol Hunter trials where I qualified for the working hunter jumping up to 1.05/1.10. I have also represented Angus Pony Club at Interbranch in the novice show jumping and eventing on many occasions.
I am an enthusiastic and forward thinking person who is an independent worker but I can also work in a team to take on roles and responsibilities. As an individual I am determined and ambitious. I am use to organising myself for competitions and have had many trips down South and too many different places where I’ve stayed away from home for multiple days in a lorry. I am able to attend to the needs of these horses staying away from home and turning horses out for competitions.
I am currently employed on a part time basis at Muirlands Farm on my family ran livery yard after school and at weekends/holiday cover, my duties include; turning out, mucking out, feeding and riding of the livery’s horses. I work close with the owners and establish their needs which gives me a good involvement in the yard. I have gained lots of experience with the handling and riding of different horses. I am always very reliable and finish jobs to a high standard.
2014: Royal Windsor Horse Show and the Curragh international, I was individually selected to be part of the Scottish mounted games team, after I completed a trial under the supervision of selectors.
2012: Horse of The Year Show, As part of the winning Angus team at Pony Club Championships we qualified for Horse of the Year show in mounted games. We had one training session each morning at 6:30am and two performances per day.
