I currently work part time as a groom, previously 16 horses/ponies now currently just 8. Duties including mucking out, filling haynets, feeding, turning out bringing in, grooming and some tack cleaning. I also take care of and walk two dogs.
I have previously worked in a riding school, my role was to manage a team of around 10 staff to ensure all ponies and horses were groomed and tacked up ready for the lessons, allocating jobs to the staff such as ensuring tack were clean and general tidying of the riding school. I also was incharge of taking care of the full liveries (Turning out and bringing in, making sure all jobs were complete).
I have had horses and ponies of my own since a very young age so very confident of handling all types of horses and sizes.
I have recently started to give a couple of lessons on our current yard, teaching children the basics of riding (rising trot, stearing and chaging the rein)
Whilst working at the riding school i volenteered for the riding for the disabled national champs, this included leading the disabled children, setting up the event and helping the riders mount the horses safely using specalised equipment if required.
I backed and schooled all three of my ponies myself, I have previously taken ponies to back and school for people, including the ground work lunging/long reining. I have shown my horses to a high standard and also ridden for others.
