Within lifeguarding: first aid training, pool rescue training, fitness management, supervising and observing, being responsible. Biology graduate: writing and research. Stable hand: lunging, riding, tacking and unsaddling, mucking out, grooming.
I have ridden for over 15 years, I have never owned my own horse but always tried to work at stable yards and organisations with horses. I am a very competent rider with a great deal of experience. I ride with a calm and gentle technique but also firm which always works for me. I have ridden difficult rescue horses, and lunged and ridden two national winning carrige driving ponies for a former employer. Although I haven't competed myself or pursued qualifications in the equine world this is mainly due to lack of opportunity for myself and also due to my own contentness at being around horses on the ground and riding at leisure. I love horses, just being around them on the ground.
Working with disabled riders, trekking and hacking, and assisting at summer riding courses and some teaching at a basic level.
English riding style. Done some jumping, dressage and cross country riding but not in a competition setting.
