I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
Managing a small trekking business in New Zealand with regular sole charge of 21 horses. Guiding treks, managing a small team and taking bookings for treks.
My first job was in a large equestrian centre where I managed the riding school ponies; I was responsible for the day to day care of 19 ponies as well as matching ponies to children for their lessons, ensuring all lessons ran on time, taking bookings and managing the volunteers. I have since spent 3 seasons working at Mackenzie Alpine Horse Trekking in Lake Tekapo, New Zealand where I went from trek guide to operations manager. Once again I was responsible for the welfare and care of the horses, guiding treks, bookings, health and safety and training. The periods in between these jobs although I have worked in management positions in Hopsitality, Travel and Tourism and not with horses I have always ridden in my spare time and horses are a huge part of my life.
Management, trekking, bringing on green horses, people skills, organisation
I am a confident rider and willing to try my hand at anything. Although I have only really done flatwork and trekking for the past few years with a bit of practice and guidance I would happily take on other types.
