Duties of Current Occupation
I am an event and wedding coordinator for a hotel voted the best wedding venue with best event planners in Scotland. I respond to all sales leads and clients to secure profitable business for the company as well as ensure satisfaction of all clients.
Equine Work Experience
I have owned horses for 13 years and have been riding since i was 7 years old i am now 23. Throughout this time i have worked part time at yards gaining experience in all aspects of horse care and riding. I have previously backed horses and started youngsters in the early stages of their training and careers. I have ridden and competed horses for others in the industry in order to bring out the potential of the horse. I have certificates in horse first aid which was undertaken at a certified vets. I have recently been part of an organisation called "The Pony Project" which focuses on using the horse as a form of therapy for children and adults suffering from various disabilities.
I have an advanced knowledge of the tourism industry as a result of gaining my honors degree in Tourism Airline Management at Edinburgh Napier University. In particular, the equine tourism industry is a specialist subject after conducting an exploratory study of the equine tourism industry in Scotland for my 4th year dissertation. This research not only focused on the equine tourism industry in Scotland but identified the success and key issues of the industry in other European countries.
Type of Ride Work
I am a competent and experienced rider who is comfortable riding youngsters to school masters. I have knowledge riding in all spheres of the sport particularly showjumping.
I have previously jumped at BSJA affiliated level up to 1.20 level with my 148cm showjumper who i trained from a youngster. I have had opportunities to jump senior level but due to university commitments at the time was unable. I also have experience competing 3 day events. I am now looking for an opportunity to compete at a senior level.
