I have owned ponies/horses since the age of 7. Currently at home I we have 5 internationally competing show jumpers, 1 low level eventer and 1 retired show jumper. My love for horses has always been immense and I couldn't have more time of day for them if I tried.
A friend of mine, his mum runs her own yard which I frequently help out on with yard work and assisting children with their ponies to get them ready for their lesson or helping them to wash off/rug up afterwards.
As stated above, I have been riding from a young age and in the last 10 years I have ridden a wide range of horses from competition horses, pony club ponies and a couple of youngsters. I am a keen dressage rider simply because I have broken my leg a couple of times and when I was younger it seemed the safest aspect to carry on competitively with but I also do some low level show jumping too. As well as this I often help my brother exercise his competition horses and take great pleasure in that.
I got myself into the BYRDS squad at the age of 12 just the week before breaking my leg for the second time so ever got to persue with this but instead I continued to do my own thing competing up to elementary dressage and 90cm show jumping.
