I do not currently have any qualifications that are horse related due to this being a recent change in career path. I plan to complete a first aid course for both human and equines as soon as possible and then gain qualifications in horse management and complete BHS levels and possibly the BHSai to eventually become an instructor . I do however have 11 GCSE's A*-C and 4 A LEVELS.
currently working on a livery yard handling horses of all temperaments from 15-18hh, mucking out, turn out, bring in, keeping yard tidy, use of horse walker.
I have been riding for 12 years and owned my last horse for 7 years. I have recently bought a green six year old welsh x warmblood who was late cut having covered a few mares. I plan to produce him in dressage and help my sister develop her jumping with him to eventually event. I have also been lucky enough to have been given a quirky 6 year old KWPN event prospect to school regularly which has taught me a lot. I have worked at my current job for 1 1/2 years part-time and have learnt so much about producing and handing higher level competition horses. I have very recenty had a career change to working full time with horses so am looking for something that will offer me the opportunity to develop as a rider and handler.
My main interest is dressage, and furthering my education on my flatwork and general riding. I am very confident dealing with every kind of horse on the ground having dealt with everything from rearing shetlands to 17hh warmblood with wobblers syndrome. I notice small changes in behaviour and am very used to helping spot lameness.
I would like to find a job where I get the opportunity to ride as this is what I wish to further my education in. I am happy to jump low levels occasionally but as my focus has always been in flatwork, I would not feel comfortable being responsible for a great deal of a horses jumping education. I do enjoy hacking too and am confident hacking out even on a less confident horse.
I have competed mainly on other peoples horses over the years, from showing at local shows on a 16.3 IDxTB and a WelshXcob. I have also attended a couple of local showjumping competitions and derby's (75cm). I have mainly competed dressage starting at intro gaining 73% on my first test and within a year, gaining 65% at elementary level and schooling medium movements. I find even competitions even as a spectator exciting so would also love the opportunity to go to competitions but not essential.
