I have a first class degree in Psychology and a Masters degree with distinction.
I do not have any riding qualifications, but am more than willing to gain them.
I am currently a PhD student, finishing my thesis in Alcohol Addiction, Psychology. I am also a part-time support worker for students with disabilities in higher education, providing them with library support, academic assistance and note taking.
I have 15 years riding experience and 7 years of experience carrying out general yard duties at a variety of stables.
I also assisted in bringing on some of the younger horses (lunging and riding) and exercising the riding school horses.
I have had 3 different horses (Welsh section C, German Warmblood and part Thoroughbred) on loan from the age of 11-21.
For 3 years I was captain of the advanced riding lesson at the University of Liverpool and for 7 years I have been part of the club, this meant riding a variety of different horses. Often I was given a younger, greener horse, to help give them experience in a lesson scenario.
I have a great deal of experience assisting in teaching young children to ride and I have a year's experience as a volunteer counselor for Childline.
I have 7 years experience assisting in teaching young children to ride and in the second year of my undergraduate degree I completed a project on equine psychotherapy. This involved assisting at a yard for two weeks with riders with disabilities.
