Are you looking for someone who is dedicated, has years of experience in the horse industry? My track record includes: foal watch at equine vet clinic, young horse starting, trailer load training, instructing in public lesson programs and summer camp, barn management, buying, training, showing and selling American bred warmblood horses, conditioning of reining, driving, fox hunting, dressage and jumper horses, show grooming, pony ride operator, and shipping horses locally in the Northeast.
Between us we have many skills including, horse management at top international level, riding, schooling, lunging, safari guide and back up rider, HGV driving licenses, horse transportation, mechanics, general maintenance, gardening and housekeeping. We are a mature hardworking genuine couple with a good sense of humour and great people skills. Looking for a permanent position. Anywhere considered. Currently renovating our house in South West France.
I currently hold no equine qualifications, however I do hold a vast amount of work experience at various yards and I'm able to pick up new skills quickly with some guidance.
I currently work full time as a Graphic Designer but I'm looking to change my career and work with horses instead as a groom or livery/racing yard worker.
I first started learning to ride at 7 years old and have continued to the present day, with some small breaks inbetween due to switching jobs and moving abroad.
I feel confident with lunging, trekking, intermediate dressage and showjumping. I do not shy at a horse who is a 'bit more to handle' and enjoy being able to take on sole charge and responsibility with my duties.
I have previous loaned a horse at a dressage stable while I lived in Germany for 2 years and also volunteered to help out there with general yard duties as they were short-handed. This included lunging, mucking out stalls, grooming, turning out and doing the daily rounds of feeds.
When I moved back to the UK (late 2017) I also worked on a private yard which focused on hacking out and showjumping. I also made sure that all horses were supplied with enough hay and water, that stalls were kept clean and the yard itself free of clutter and mess.
I would also love to try my hand at a racing yard if the opportunity is available!
I have competed at Catterick Saddle Club during my riding tuition - cross country, dressage and showjumping.
