I currently don't have any equine qualifications but I have 10 GCSEs from A-C, first aid qualifications, 3 BTECs, Duke of Edinburgh award (silver) and navigation awards. I would like to go to brackenhurst collage to do an equine qualification(s) whether that be full or part time so I can work at the same time.
My main duties are customer care and being flexible to cover all other jobs.
My experience is from owning horses since I was 3 and volunteering at a livery yard when I was 15/16 however I have not worked at a professional yard. This is my future aim, whether that be a racing, hunting, eventing or anything else. I also used to drive my old pony in a scurry cart, I have experience with this however I would need a refresh. I want to work full time and many hours to gain experience and knowledge. The current role I have at my yard is that I'm in charge of ordering, costing etc of hay. This means I'm dealing with peoples money every couple of weeks.
I have only privately trained my own horse and exercised other peoples horses when they have asked as it was very informal. As I live next to a DIY yard, I interact with horses everyday.
I only have limited competition experience as I only competed when I was young. I cannot compete currently as my horse isn't capable.
