I have completed a level 3 extended diploma in horse management covering a number of units including equine health, rehabilitation, stable and yard management, care of the competition horse and horse nutrition.
In my current position as deputy yard manager I work independently or in a team, organising the day to day running of the yard. This role has taught me excellent time management skills as well as how to work under pressure to a very high standard.
I have owned horses all my life, and have produced and competed my current and previous horses. Regarding my professional experience, I currently work for a dressage training centre specialising in bio-mechanics. In this role, I am deputy yard manager. I help organse the daily running of the yard as well as assit with farriers, denists and clients. This role has taught me exercellent time keeping skills and how to adapt to any sutuation to ensure the the yard runs smoothly. I also ride and exeriese clients horses, this can be schooling liveries or horses that belong to the business.
Organising other members of staff, the running of the yard and myself to ensure the yard is run smoothly. Adapting to my surroundings to be able to handle any situation I am faced with. Liasing with clients to ensure they are completely satisfied. Working to a high standard and making sure the horses are properly cared for.
Due to being on dressage training yard, I have predominantly schooled and exercised the school horses and livery horses. This includes schooling, hacking, lunging and long reining. I have also brought on and schooled some jumping ponies for the business.
I currently compete in dressage and I also have previous experience in unaffiliated show jumping. I am also preparing for next season to comepete in showing.
