I currently work as a receptionist / administrator for the Chamber Of Commerce
I began volunteering at Hole Farm when I was around 10 and continued to volunteer there up until I was 15/16 where I left to focus on my GCSE's and I then moved away. Whilst at Hole Farm I worked with a variety of horses and increased my knowledge of horse care and standard of riding. I used to look after three horses who were 'my responsibility', as such. This would mean 'my' three horses would need to be in / mucked out, groomed, tacked up and ready for our first lesson which was 9 o'clock. I would then assist in the lessons - leading beginner riders, skipping out the school, assembling and clearing away jumps/poles/wings. I've worked with adults and children of many ages - also with the RDA. I have a good knowledge of basic horse care (muck out, groom, tack up, turn out, rug up etc) I am familiar with the general behavioural signs a horse gives and have the ability to communicate with a range of different people.
I have experience of riding and handling a variety of horses and am willing to handle and ride almost anything. I enjoy schooling young / inexperienced horses and love a challenge. I work well both with others and independently.
I currently own an ex racehorse who I am bringing back into work from some time off due to injury and have previously assisted friends with the schooling etc of their horses. I have ridden cross country courses, showjumping courses and dressage tests. I am willing to handle and ride almost anything, I have ridden youngsters and helped to bring them on, brought horses back into work, ridden horses that buck etc. I enjoy a challenge and am always willing to learn, train and improve.
I have attended a dressage competition at Rodbaston where I took part in Intro B with a friends gelding whilst mine was out of work due to injury where we gained around 63% at his first dressage test and placed 5th out of 15. I have been looking to compete my mare which now she is starting to come back into work I am hoping to progress with.
