All general yard duties including mucking out, grooming, maintain the yard etc. Riding flat and jump, assisting with RDA riding and ground lessons, working alongside the farrier and vet. Breaking in and training young horses and RDA horses.
My current role is at an RDA centre. I help assist with RDA ground work and ridden lessons two or three days a week. I have assisted as an RDA trainee coach to teach some of the ridden lessons. I have broken in and trained horses for the RDA and to sell on. I also have experience handling larger competition horses and stallions working with them on a daily basis and ground schooling them.
I completed my BTECH Level 3 extended diploma in horse management at Moreton Morrell. This included many practical modules. Some examples of this are yard duties, riding flat and jump, groundwork, feeding and diet, behavioural studies, health and fitness, first aid, planning and running competitions, teaching group and privet lessons.
I worked at a riding school/livery yard on and off (because of college) for 7 years starting from a voluntary role and working my way up to head girl position. Assisting with lessons and pony days, competitions, riding and general yard duties.
I am a reliable, trustworthy worker with experience working with a variety of different horses. I can work as part of a team and as an individual with previous experience running a small team of two and taking sole charge. I am confident to take charge of situations to ensure that the work is done efficiently, safely and to a high standard. I am also able to communicate well with customers and other professionals. Working alongside vets/farriers, and also working with clients and their parents.
