I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
Hi there, im looking to find a yard with great horses and people! Ideally I would like to be in a family set up but working environment, humourous, dedicated staff and interesting animals are paramount. Having left home at 16 to work abroad with horses/children and doing it ever since, I feel I would be a good asset to any team. Im mature, conscientious and passionate. I started working for rides age 8 and at 12 I began working part-time at a highly established yard where
I began to gain knowledge about all aspects of starting young horses, hunting and showing. I went on to run a very successful yard for one year in France starting 06. The yard consisted of 15 to 20 horses, providing riding/hunt training holidays, where I lead trail rides for up to six hours a day, taught children and adults, (novice and intermediate-all diciplines inc Jump Cross) as well as having sole charge of the yard and upholding all other stable duties. I worked in West Indies, assisting the yard owner in the running of a breaking/dealing yard, on a temporary contract for three months. Whilst in Ireland, I worked on a livery/breaking/dealing/ competition yard, involved with all aspects of the yard, (excercise/feeding plans, backing and competing etc) and working closely with the owners who had young children which I would help out with, gaining good experience with little people! 09 I managed a well established dealing stable, Turkey, importing top quality competitional horse
from Germany. As Head Groom, I was responsible for general well being of an average of 15 horses, supervising two grooms and working along side the yards Riders and owners. I had two temp 3 month contracts in Egypt at a Country club and in Croatia providing trail rides. I then had an internship in natural+ western horsemanship, England, where I learned the true essence of horsemanship-being conscious, mindful and fair always-followed by adventurous riding holiday work on the coast in Spain.
I groom, muck out, plait and clip etc, and also make structured feeding/exercise plans. I am a competent rider and have the knowledge and dedication to manage a small yard. I’m a very friendly person and I love to teach both children and adults although I have no formal qualifications. I am an extremely hard worker, reliable flexibleand polite. I also have experience of entertaining holiday makers/hostessing and helping to waitress, wash up etc. Plus au pairing; bed making, cleaning, tidying
ironing, playing, cooking etc. I am more than willing to get my hands dirty and do the things that need doing. I am quick to learn new skills and am a great team player with good interpersonal skills. It would be great to apply my skills in natural horsemanship and/or making tangible, positive contributions to a families life. Horses and nature are my absolute life and passion so ideally I'd like to be out in the elements with horses.
