Duties of Current Occupation
I teach beginners (children, teenagers and adults) and bringing them up to Short/Long Stirrup level. I have also some experience (from late 1980s) teaching beginners and juniors in a showjumping barn.
Equine Work Experience
Started riding in 1971. Rode jumpers and dressage through 70s and 80s. Owned 2 jumpers in 1980s. Rode winter fitness work with racehorses, which paid for hay/straw/oats for my jumpers. Worked as finish-line judge, assistant racing secretary, assistant handicapper and doping-control stewart at Belgrade racecourse, and later as showjumping judge. Translated Klimke's "Cavaletti" and Blixen-Finecke's "Art of Riding" from English to Serbian. Went to vet school in 1980s focusing on equine sports medicine. Moved to USA and hunters in 1991 due to war in former Yugoslavia. Taught beginners through short stirrup, and schooled young horses for Shep Welles (brother of Jeffery Welles) at Triton Stables, NC. Also taught at Ride The Sky Stables as a hunter/jumper instructor in a predominantly dressage oriented, bitless bridle program.
Specialities
Patient, individualized instruction of beginner, novice and intermediate students of all ages (kids, teens, adults). Coaching at hunter/equitation shows. General horse care. When younger, specialized in bringing up young horses, as well as working with problem horses. Attended vet school in 1980s (studies interrupted by war).
Type of Ride Work
Ideally working in or potentially running a riding school for all ages and stages from beginner to advanced, coaching at hunter/jumper shows, plus some light riding. Would not mind being involved in a quality breeding program as well.
Competition Details
Have not competed since late 1980s. Used to bring up young or problematic horses until they are ready for 1,00m or so, then give them on to better riders to take up the levels.
