- I have reliable transportation and a (very well trained) border collie and one Hungarian warmblood in training for show jumping. I would prefer to bring my animals, but am negotiable for the right position.
Qualifications
I have held a few grooming positions, and have A circuit experience. I have professionally trained and started many horses. Along with helping my mother with her training business, I have had a lot of experience teaching under many trainers. My entire life has been dedicated to riding and learning everything I possibly can about horses (and the horse/human relationship). I am an extremely hard worker and I would just like to learn and gain as much experience as I possibly can.

Duties of Current Occupation
I teach riders, start horses, work with problem horses, and work as a groom. Currently I run a barn housing anywhere from five to fifteen horses at one time. I am also responsible for teaching other working students and facilities maintenance.
Equine Work Experience
I have been riding for 17 years and have owned horses for 15 years. I am still young but I made the decision to dedicate myself 100% to the equestrian world at a very young age and never wavered. I started showing other people's ponies at nine years old and have never slowed down. I have been training with hunter/jumper and natural horsemanship trainers my entire life, making a balance between understanding horse behavior and being able to ride and train at a competitive level. I also have a lot of experience with many dressage and eventing trainers. I was in pony club for many years as a child, as well as 4-h. Every summer I take on a few students who have always been extremely complimentary. Over the last five years I have held quite a few working student positions, along with grooming on the east coast A circuit. On top of that I also have a lot of experience with equine nutrition, therapeutic riding, and barefoot trimming. I can drive up to a 30' horse trailer as well.
Specialities
The majority of my knowledge and passion lies in equine psychology and understanding horse behavior. My specialty is definitely working with problem horses. Larger than that, though, I really enjoy training horses. I have started seven horses, and am in the process of finishing my own competition horse (show jumping). Behind that, I am very interested in human/sports psychology as well, and love teaching riders as well as horses. I teach because I love to watch a horse or student progress.
Type of Ride Work
I ride mainly huntseat, but also dedicate a lot of time to dressage training. My riding training has just been about being able to move with the horse, regardless of the discipline. I have done a lot of study with rider biomechanics. I am a firm believer that form follows function.
Competition Details
I have not participated in many competitions over the past few years, though I have been involved in countless shows over the years. Rather than competing, I enjoy schooling horses and riders for competition much more. Although I am usually not entered in any classes, I almost always have at least two horses on the grounds for schooling. I love to compete but I am usually behind the scenes at big competitions.
