I am happy with any yard work or exercising if required. I have brought on young horses and competed in county-level showing and up to novice level dressage with animals I have started from scratch. I am currently working towards a Masters in Law but am doing this part time so am able to work full time, alongside working my own horse.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
Due to a change in circumstances I'm currently looking for a part time riding role, 4 mornings a week, but can be flexible. I have over 16 years experience within the industry and have produced horses from youngstock up to intermediate. I'm happy to work with all sorts, from happy hackers to fit competition horses. Quiet but firm rider, who can deal with quirks if necessary. Ideally within 30 mins of Newark but happy to travel up to an hour for the right place.
From Showjumping, to showing/eventing and foals through to stallions I have experience in all aspects of the equestrian world. I am looking for my next long term journey where I can spend my days working with the animals I love, and carry out my exceptionally high standards for the right person.
I wanted to go to University for the Equine Barn Care and Management program but was closed down due to not a high enough demand. When students are choosing their career unfortunately this program wasn't getting the attention it needed and had to make room for another program.
I have travelled outside of my country before to help other equestrian farms. Most of these farms would request me to come out and help as my knowledge for horses is quite extensive, I never call the vet unless it is absolutely needed. I wanted to go into vet school but was told I knew what the professors would be teaching, they encouraged me to use the knowledge I already know and help others learn it.
I learned about horses at a young age, I took interest when I was 4 and started to ride at 5. I come from a family of 6 including myself, I am the only one in my family to explore this field. My parents didn't grow up around horses, although for generations horses have been around on my moms side of the family. When her parents were young and the Great Depression was starting my grandpas dad owned a farm and that was their survival. He owned Belgian horses and a supply of cows to rely on.
I was apart of a breeding facility where I would help buy and sell horses. When the foal would be born I would help start it this meant haltering and teaching it to lead, when it became of age to be ridden I would be the one to get on. The stallions would either be put in an enclosure with the mare to be bread, or a dummy would be used to collect semen, once collected it would be sold to the client who requested it. Other times it would be inserted into the mare. I was a barn manager for 6 year
I have trained abused and traumatized horses. I have been asked to go to other farms outside of my country to help others with horses they have difficulty dealing with, some have a hard time under saddle, while others were rescues and have a harder time adjusting to being touched/handled. I have ridden the green horses, the ones with the highest attitude and the ones that are the absolute sweetest.
I have done lots of flat work, jumping, hunting, dressage, western, and many more.
I have never competed in a competition as someone always needed a coach or manager on site helping with the tasks and preparing each rider and their horses. I have been to many competitions where I was a groom, I can take on the role on managing these competitions as well however I go where I am needed as event days can be very chaotic. I have also been a spectator to see who my riders are up against, if a horse doesn't complete a jump I need to make my riders aware of this so they can prepare.
