currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
Due to a change in circumstances I'm currently looking for a part time riding role, 4 mornings a week, but can be flexible. I have over 16 years experience within the industry and have produced horses from youngstock up to intermediate. I'm happy to work with all sorts, from happy hackers to fit competition horses. Quiet but firm rider, who can deal with quirks if necessary. Ideally within 30 mins of Newark but happy to travel up to an hour for the right place.
From Showjumping, to showing/eventing and foals through to stallions I have experience in all aspects of the equestrian world. I am looking for my next long term journey where I can spend my days working with the animals I love, and carry out my exceptionally high standards for the right person.
I finished my upper secondary education in 2018 (what we in danish call gymnasiel uddannelse STX), and worked 2 years as a high school teacher (a substitute) with about 37 hours a week on average. Then I joined the army, and in 2022-2023 I was deployed to Estonia under a British battlegroup.
Tank gunner and driver, vehicle maintenance, medic, spokesperson (conflict management, creating dialogue between colleagues, basic welfare in the workspace), military trainer (courses in physical training but also courses in instructorwork)
I currently work part time in a sales stable in Jutland (DK), where we have 7-8 horses ranging from 3- and 4 years olds to older horses training at various levels. I tend to stable work, like mucking out and feeding, but also riding and lunging. I also currently give riding lessons (dressage) once pr. week to 9-10 year old riders and their ponies (4 riders at a time) I also worked in a jumping stable (20-25 horses) when I was 16 to 17 yo, where I had 40 hours a week with riding, lessons, stable work and such. I went to competitions as their groom, and showed sales horses for potential buyers.
Through my 4 years in the army, I have discipline and an urge to work hard. I have experience with leading teams of up to 16 people and smaller groups of about 3-4 people. I am quite a perfectionist and take responsibility very seriously. I have had 3 horses of my own during my lifetime and trained countless others. I have experience with breaking in younglings and very green horses and therefore have my basic groundwork and horsemanship in order.
I have experience with competitions in jumping (110cm-115cm), dressage (LA2-/LA3 - which I think translates to elementary level), hunting, and cross country. Currently, I mostly do dressage and trail riding, but I love to jump whenever we have horses in the stable where jumping is a possibility. I have experience with breaking in younglings and very green horses and therefore have my basic groundwork and horsemanship in order. I love seeing progression with the horses I work with the most.
In 2017 and 2018 I was involved in organizing competitions in the riding club I was a part of, I worked as a part of the administration in the club. I also have groom experience (about 2 years, but only to competitions).
