From Showjumping, to showing/eventing and foals through to stallions I have experience in all aspects of the equestrian world. I am looking for my next long term journey where I can spend my days working with the animals I love, and carry out my exceptionally high standards for the right person.
I have a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Equine Management which I came out with a Merit.
My current job is as an Estate Planning Administrator at a financial firm. My main duties include; creating Lasting Powers of Attorney and wills, meeting with clients to sign legal documents and handling cash when clients pay.
I have been around horses for 19 years and I learned to ride on a very naughty Shetland when I was 3 years old. I grew up caring for 5 horses on a small private yard, where I learned to work by myself from a young age. I knew I always wanted a job with horses so when I was 14 I got a job with a racing yard. Knowing that I wanted a career with horses, I wanted to start young. Unfortunately, due to my age, I was only able to work there throughout the summer but having that experience taught me how to turn out to a high standard, muck out fast and efficiently, turning out onto the horse walker & exercising the horses on the gallops. Later, I got accepted into an equine college to take my BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Equine Management which I passed, achieving a merit.
I have previous experience working at a racing yard, mucking out, tacking up and exercising 5 groups of racehorses a day. My own horse, Zorro, who I recently lost, taught me everything I know about equine medical care. Which includes, but is not limited to, spotting lameness, treating wounds, abscesses & ulcer care. From working in Hospitality as a Supervisor, I have developed leadership qualities and have experience in leading a group of 7-10 members of staff throughout a shift.
I have ridden a variety of different horses, naughty Welsh D's and frisky youngsters. At the age of 17, I broke in our 3-year-old who was a home-bred. She was a feisty mare who by no means made the task easy but I managed to back her and still to this day, it is something I'm very proud of.
I used to compete in showjumping on my Dutch Warmblood but had to stop due to COVID-19. In our last competition, we did a Chase Me Charlie, just for some fun, and we managed to win it at 1.60m! I always wanted to compete more as I am a competitive person but unfortunately, I never got the chance to.
