I have experience working with stallions, mares and foals, youngsters, including breaking young ponies. I have also brought on and work with ex-racers of my own. I am happy with any yard work or exercising if required. I have brought on young horses and competed in county-level showing and up to novice level dressage with animals I have started from scratch. I am currently working towards a Masters in Law but am doing this part time so am able to work full time, alongside working my own horse.

Due to a change in circumstances I'm currently looking for a part time riding role, 4 mornings a week, but can be flexible. I have over 16 years experience within the industry and have produced horses from youngstock up to intermediate. I'm happy to work with all sorts, from happy hackers to fit competition horses. Quiet but firm rider, who can deal with quirks if necessary. Ideally within 30 mins of Newark but happy to travel up to an hour for the right place.
From Showjumping, to showing/eventing and foals through to stallions I have experience in all aspects of the equestrian world. I am looking for my next long term journey where I can spend my days working with the animals I love, and carry out my exceptionally high standards for the right person.
No equine related qualifications. A degree in BSc (Hons) Animal Behaviour and Welfare.
Mucking out 4/5 large shaving beds, handling large competition horses, grooming to a low standard, usual yard duties; poo picking, cleanliness of work areas, harrowing indoor and outdoor schools. Riding such as exercise and light hacking.
Local riding school - 2009 - 2019 as a team leader. Various rescue centres over multiple months at a time. 5* livery yard - 2021 - 2023 - preparing the schedule for both employees and owners for the week, preparing feeds and administering medication, riding flat and ground work for competition horses, assisting with the rehabilitation of injured horses (lunging, cold hosing, magnetic boots/bands, icing, claying), assisting farriers, vets and physio/chiro visits, turning out and bringing in competition horses, grooming to a high standard (not plaiting or clipping), bathing and banding manes over, checking and cleaning injuries where required, relaying any information to both manager and owner when necessary, mucking out to a high standard in appropriate time. Using both soaker and steamer (haygain), weighing nets. RTV certificate and able to harrow both outdoor arenas and indoor. Full livery and grass livery yard - 2023 - current.
Team leading skills in multiple jobs including the riding school and 5* livery yard. Very high standards of cleanliness, contacting clients, mucking out with shavings beds, hacking and light exercise riding, working with retired, competition, pleasure and rehabbed horses in multiple jobs including equine rescues. Able to turn out to a low standard (still willing to learn) and have excellent time management skills.
Riding work is limited due to not having my own horse, however have ridden to BHS stage 3 equivalent, as well as having my own green loan horse. At current, I ride a variety of horses from competition horses involving exercise schooling and hacking.
Unfortunately do not have any competition experience, do not know how to plait or turn out to a standard.
