currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
Due to a change in circumstances I'm currently looking for a part time riding role, 4 mornings a week, but can be flexible. I have over 16 years experience within the industry and have produced horses from youngstock up to intermediate. I'm happy to work with all sorts, from happy hackers to fit competition horses. Quiet but firm rider, who can deal with quirks if necessary. Ideally within 30 mins of Newark but happy to travel up to an hour for the right place.
From Showjumping, to showing/eventing and foals through to stallions I have experience in all aspects of the equestrian world. I am looking for my next long term journey where I can spend my days working with the animals I love, and carry out my exceptionally high standards for the right person.
I am dedicated and ambitious, seeking to pursue a career in horses. I am looking to gain experience and contribute effectively. I'm an active person with a passion for horses and I wish to apply my skills and gain as much knowledge as possible.
I have worked at a private livery yard as a groom/rider. My duties included mucking out, feeding/haying, filling haynets, muck heap, keeping the yard tidy (sweeping and blowing the yard, raking gravel, sweeping the walker), grooming, tacking up horses for clients, putting horses on the walker, daily exercising of the horses on hacks, in the arena and canter track and lunging where needed. Tack cleaning, maintaining fields and sand-pen's, turning out and bringing in, rugging up, washing and general care of the horses, assisting vets and saddlers when they came. I've spent considerable amounts of time at stables, polo clubs and friends yards. I am eager to learn and gain more experience in the field if the opportunity arises. I am open to feedback and training to become a more effective employee or leader. i've also been on a couple of very fast paced horse safaris.
I have experience leading a team gained from my time being at Sue Ryder Charity, working as a shop assistant/trainee manager. I am extremely organised and take pride in keeping things clean and in order. I've worked on a private livery yard with showjumping, dressage and hunters. I am quick at mucking out to a high standard and very capable of keeping a tidy yard. I have good time management and organisational skills. I'm a quick learner with an adaptable mindset who works well in a team.
Previously I was required to ride 1-4 horses per day either in the arena, canter track or on a hack. They were show-jumpers, hunters, dressage or leisure horses ranging from 14h to 18h. A few problem and young horses. I've ridden all my life, primarily for leisure with some polo, jumping and hunting included. I currently have no experience starting a horse but would not shy away from the opportunity. I have also ridden ex-racehorses, hunters and some extremely stubborn ponies!
I competed in show-jumping once when I was a child. I have helped out at a friend's private yard in the form of general yard and groom duties and exercising her show-jumping horses either in the aqua treadmill or walker or through hacking or riding in the school.
