I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
I'm finishing a degree in Psychology, have extensive horsemanship & show experience, plus plenty of babysitting/nannying experience. I have worked for, ridden, & competed with several show barns. I am an extremely versatile horsewoman: I can handle anything from a fresh thoroughbred in the middle of winter to a dead-to-your-leg warmblood, & I am small enough to fit most ponies. I'm not afraid to ride anything. I am very patient rider, have quiet hands, & I am very meticulous and determined.
Currently a nanny: childcare, housekeeping, cooking, running errands, organizing, tutoring, pet sitting. I am currently finishing up a Psychology degree at Ursuline College. I'm also a part-time, freelance hunter/jumper teacher & trainer.
I have been riding horses for nearly 20 years & horse showing on the local, A, & AA show circuits for nearly 15. I have mainly Hunter/Jumper experience, but also have some Dressage background. I have showed quite a bit: all over the Southeast (Zone 4), HITS Ocala, The Pennsylvania National Horse Show for USEF Medal Finals & Junior Hunter Finals (2 years in a row), & I competed on my high school's IEA Team. I also have done extensive volunteering with my barn's therapeutic riding program. I have competed in everything from Short Stirrup to the High Children's Jumpers, Junior Hunters & derbies to the Big Eq. I have only ridden & worked at show barns, so I understand the quality of care necessary to run a successful show facility. I have also taught lessons & run pony camps.
Passionate, energetic, young, determined, incredibly hardworking, college educated woman with excellent people skills looking for employment at a hunter/jumper training, teaching, and/or showing facility. Skills with children, & in dog training, horse training, horse show management, prep, & grooming, stall cleaning, & general organization/cleaning. Coming from a history of show barns, I understand the meticulous hard work and dedication it takes to run & succeed in the show world.
Hunters, Jumpers, Equitation, Hacking, Pole work, Flat work, Show Prep
I've successfully competed on the local, A, & AA horse show circuits. I've shown at the Penn National USEF Medal Finals & Junior Hunter Finals (2008, 2009), HITS Ocala, & all over Zone 4. I've groomed extensively for other show barns & myself at Local & A shows. I've competed in Short Stirrup, Long Stirrup, Children's Hunter & Medal, Junior Hunters, Maclay, USET, USEF Medal, WIHS Medal, Children's Jumpers, Amateur Owners, & USHJA Hunter Derbies.
