Are you the kind of person who lives for the smell of hay, believes a clean stall is a form of meditation, and secretly prefers horses to humans. Then saddle up. This might be your dream weekend gig.
Grelo Farms, a respected classical riding school nestled in Inglewood, is on the hunt for a Weekend Barn Lead to take the reins every Saturday and Sunday. This isn’t just another muck-and-go job — it’s a leadership role at a serene, drama-free farm where excellence in care, lifelong learning, and good old-fashioned horsemanship still matter.
What You’ll Do: • Dole out breakfast like a 5-star equine chef (a.k.a. feed and turnout) • Muck stalls until they sparkle — or at least don’t offend the nostrils • Keep the barn so tidy Marie Kondo would tip her hat • Refresh hay and water like the hydration hero you are • Wrap up the day with dinner, turn-in, and one last loving look around
Schedule & Flow: You’ll be on-site for morning, midday, and evening check-ins, with real breaks (we promise). Expect around 6–8 hours of work per day depending on the season, weather, and how dramatic the horses are feeling.
Who You Are: • Confident with horses of all ages, even the young, spicy ones • A self-starter who sees a crooked blanket and fixes it • Dependable to the core — if you say you’re coming, we don’t worry
Perks of the Herd: • Prefer pitchforks over rent payments? This role could include accommodations as part of a work exchange. • Barn chores for board? Let's talk. • Join a kind, no-ego team that values knowledge, humour, and good snacks • Your work makes a visible difference, and your effort never goes unnoticed
Ready to lead the charge (and the muck fork)? Email rachel@grelofarms.com with an intro and resume. Please also CC info@grelofarms.com.
This isn’t just a weekend job. It’s a calling for those who believe horses deserve the best — and know that starts with the humans who show up for them, rain or shine.
