Riding Groom (Working location: Conghua district, Guangzhou, Guangdong)
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the best horse care is provided to ponies in their care at all times by adhering to instructions from the Supervisor and Manager and the agreed duty list, which may be updated from time to time based on business needs.
- Ensure the stables and the compound area is kept in the best condition and to the highest hygiene and safety standard as laid down in the Health and Safety Manual.
- Monitor the health and hygienic condition of the ponies in his/her care, carry out simple treatment as directed by the Supervisor and report any abnormalities for remedial action.
- Undertake the daily exercise programmes of the ponies as directed by the Supervisor.
- Ride in demonstration races and performances for visitors to Conghua Racecourse and other locations as required.
- Ensure personal health and safety by complying with the Club’s policy, instruction and information and minimise the risk of accidents at the workplace.
- Undertake stables-related training and development to upgrade core skills in meeting future business needs.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
- Undertake any other duties as allocated by the Supervisor, Manager or his/her deputies during the normal course of business.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Horse riding skills – able to ride horses and ponies at all paces including galloping at speed. Experienced riders with ability on the flat and jumping preferred.
- Equine working experience. Racing experience not essential.
- A car driving license holder is preferable.
- Basic understanding of English would be advantageous.
- As the horses ridden in this position are small size pony racing breed with limited capacity, applicants should be under 155cm tall and weigh less than around 50kgs to ensure the horse’ welfare. This requirement is based on the necessity of job performance and applies equally to all applicants, regardless of gender or age.
