Pony Tales Stables is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Head Yard Assistant & Basic Riding Instructor to join our friendly and professional team. This is a varied and rewarding role combining horse care, customer service and beginner riding instruction. If you are passionate about horses, enjoy working with people and take pride in maintaining high standards, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities • Daily care and feeding of horses and ponies. • Mucking out and maintaining excellent yard standards. • Grooming, tacking up and preparing horses for lessons. • Turning horses in and out and carrying out daily welfare checks. • Assisting with and teaching beginner riding lessons. • Supporting our therapeutic riding programme. • Helping with Pony Club, school visits and holiday camps. • Greeting clients, assisting with bookings and providing excellent customer service. • Maintaining a safe, welcoming and professional environment for both horses and riders.
Essential Requirements • Experience in a riding school, competition or livery yard is desirable. • Experience teaching beginner riders is an advantage. • Garda Vetting is required prior to employment. • Applicants must already have the legal right to live and work in Ireland. We are unable to provide employment permits or sponsor work visas.

About You
The successful applicant will be Garda Vetted prior to commencing employment. We are looking for someone who is confident handling horses, enjoys working with people and thrives in a busy, team-focused environment. You should be reliable, organised, enthusiastic and able to work independently while also contributing positively to our close-knit team.
As part of your role, you will support our therapeutic riding programme for children and adults with additional needs, as well as assist with teaching riders of all ages and abilities when required.
This is an active, hands-on role that requires initiative, energy and a genuine passion for horses. We are looking for someone who is committed to delivering the highest standards of horse care, customer service and rider experience. Above all, we want someone who is looking for more than just a job—someone who wants to grow with our business, take pride in their work and become a valued member of our team.
Previous horse handling experience is essential

You will be provided with a fully equipped modern 3 bedroom, fully central heated accommodation located on site. You will have to share with other staff members but will have your own room. WIFI is provided. An monthly allowance for bills will be covered by the company.
