We are seeking a full-time yard manager/groom to join our expanding competition stable based in Co. Longford, Ireland. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a committed and motivated individual to work within a young, professional, and supportive team.
Daily responsibilities include mucking out, grooming, tack cleaning, turning horses in and out, lunging, tacking up and untacking, and maintaining a clean, well-organised yard. Additional duties may involve assisting with young horses, managing the walker, and general yard upkeep. We are specifically looking for someone who can help manage the stable day-to-day, organise routines, make plans, and ensure that the yard runs smoothly and efficiently.
Candidates who demonstrate initiative, strong organisational skills, and reliability will have the opportunity to take on increased responsibility and, where appropriate, sole-charge duties.
Our yard cares for a diverse range of horses, including young horses, competition horses competing in young horse classes through to Grand Prix, as well as American hunter and equitation types. This provides valuable exposure to professional horse care, stable management, and a structured competition environment.
We are seeking an individual with a genuine passion for horses, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. Previous experience is beneficial, but training can be provided to the right person. The role suits someone who enjoys working outdoors, can work independently and as part of a team, and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
Riding is optional and may be offered depending on experience, confidence, and suitability, but it is not required for the role.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a progressive, expanding yard where professionalism, development, and good organisation are valued.
