We are seeking a full-time Stable Hand/General Yard Worker to join our expanding, professionally run competition yard in Co. Longford, Ireland. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual who is reliable, motivated, and interested in developing high-level skills within a structured and supportive environment.

Responsibilities include daily yard routines such as feeding, mucking out, maintaining clean and organised stables, bedding young horse pens, and managing horses on and off the walker. Additional duties include general property and land maintenance, assisting with young horse handling, and supporting our breeding programme as required. Full training will be provided for all tasks.

Our yard manages a diverse range of horses, including young horses, competition horses competing in young horse classes through to Grand Prix level, and American equitation and hunter horses. This provides substantial exposure to professional horse care, stable management, and efficient yard systems.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong initiative, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in working within the equine industry. Previous experience is advantageous but not essential; a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn are of greater importance. The position suits someone who enjoys working outdoors, can work well both independently and as part of a team, and takes pride in maintaining high standards.

This is an exceptional opportunity to become part of a progressive yard where dedication is recognised, and personal development is encouraged. Candidates will gain valuable hands-on experience and the chance to take on increased responsibility as they grow within the role.
