We are currently recruiting an Equestrian Instructor to join our friendly and experienced team at a busy AIRE-approved riding centre located in Birr.
We may also consider applicants training towards BHSAI with suitable experience.
About the Role The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Teaching children and adults of all abilities
- Running Pony Camps during school holidays
- General yard duties
- Some trekking duties as required

- Experienced working in an Equestrian Centre environment
- Passionate about horses and animal welfare
- Reliable, trustworthy, flexible, and a strong team player
- Confident working on their own initiative

Facilities Our centre offers:
- Indoor and outdoor arenas
- Cross-country course suitable for all abilities
- Classroom and toilet facilities
Working Hours
- 5-day working week (Tuesday–Saturday)
- This role is flexible, however weekday afternoons and Saturdays are essential

- First Aid, Garda Vetting & Safeguarding (not essential initially – assistance provided)

Birr Equestrian Centre has been catering for riders and horse enthusiasts for over forty five years under the direction of Noel Cosgrave and his team of dedicated instructors. The centre is open 7 days a week to cater for your every need and there are a range of services available.
Birr Equestrian Centre is A.I.R.E. and Fáilte Ireland approved and all instructors are certified by the British Horse Society. Located in the Midlands we offer riding lessons; cross country treks and tuition; hourly, half day and full day trekking in the Slieve Bloom Mountains; trekking holidays in conjunction with local accommodation providers and also seasonal pony camps. Other activities also provided at the equestrian centre include Archery, Laser Shooting, Clay Pigeon and Air Rifle Shooting. All of our activities are perfectly suited for a family day out or a corporate or sports team building day or even weekend away.
