Margo's Garden seeks an experienced trainer with entrepreneurial spirit to lead our Horse Department in south-west Hokkaido—Japan’s powder capital.
You'll manage budgeting, staff, and daily operations for a stable of three horses and two ponies. The focus is guest safety and enjoyment (mostly beginner tourists), excellent animal welfare, and supporting a small, dedicated team.

You Are: Fluent in English (required)
A trainer with 2+ years’ experience (preferred)
Familiar with snowy conditions (preferred)
Respectful of Japanese culture
Bonus: Mandarin, Japanese, Thai, or Cantonese speaker
Independent, calm under pressure, guest-focused

Equestrian Employer Details
Margo's Garden is the snowiest farm in the world, and hosts winter tourism guests from December-April and summer tourism from June-September. Its primary business is the farmstay, although horse experiences for tourists form a significant part of Margo's identity and revenue. Pre-covid it also operated a small weekend riding school. Margo's Garden works closely with Otaru Adventure, who will be marketing horse trekking and rides in partnership. Margo's Garden is in Hokkaido. It is 7km from Kiroro, a luxury ski resort famed for having amongst the highest snowfall and best quality snow in the world, and 25Km from Otaru, a picturesque port town famous for its incredible seafood.
