We are a private eventing yard in Kintbury, Berkshire.
The yard is the base of young event rider Elizabeth Barratt (current British under 21 National Champion).
Our set up:
• 18 stables with 3 more currently being built. • There are currently 10 horses competing from the yard, but this number is likely to increase for next season. • Our team is as follows:
- 2 full time grooms, one working at the yard full time and the other working at the yard around travelling groom duties.
- An apprentice who lives on site (who also competes).
- Two people who work full time maintaining the site (one of which also lives on site).
- With future expansion in mind, we are looking to add at least one additional full-time groom. • Facilities at the yard include a water treadmill, horse spa, horse walker, lunge pen, solarium, 6-furlong woodchip gallop, 20x60 dressage arena, 50x80 jumping arena, 20x40 indoor arena, all weather turn out pens and cross country schooling area.
The Role
We are looking to employ a full-time groom to work at the yard: • 5 days a week • 40 hours a week • Generous salary • Full employment contract (including pension and holiday entitlement) • Accommodation can be provided within the village for the right candidate • Candidate needs to be capable of working to a high standard and taking charge as needed when working • Ability to hack horses is helpful but not essential (this is a groom role and not a riding role)
