We are seeking a trustworthy, capable and proactive individual for a long-term live-in role combining high-standard horse care with mother’s help support in a private family home. Located in rural South Devon, 20 minutes from Plymouth and 1 mile from the beach, this role offers a varied position within a warm but professional household.

You will be responsible for the daily care of four well-mannered horses (mainly leisure, one competition fit) including mucking out, grooming, feeding, turnout, tack care, exercising (hacking, schooling, lunging), paddock maintenance, poo picking and assisting with client horses under supervision. Sole charge of the yard at times.

Mother’s help duties include school runs (approx. three times weekly), occasional childcare for two children aged 7 and 2, babysitting as required (paid extra), cleaning including hoovering and mopping, laundry, ironing or laundrette errands, weekly shop coordination, errands and helping keep children’s spaces organised.

We are looking for someone honest, hardworking and practical who can use initiative and work to high standards without supervision. Must be a confident rider with a full clean driving licence, non-smoker, DBS checked with excellent references.

40 hours per week typically 7:30am–4:30pm with flexibility, some weekend work. £15 per hour (accom available: self-contained annex, utilities included, value £600/month). 21 days holiday plus bank holidays. Three-week trial and two-monthly check-ins.

HGV not essential but must be happy driving a trailer.

Self contained annex with open plan living/sleeping/kitchenette with hob and air fryer. Large en-suite. Access to washing machine/tumble dryer/oven.
