Equine Technician (Maternity Cover), Easton College 22.2 hours per week, 52 weeks per year £14,532 - £15,778 per annum

An opportunity has arisen to join the Easton College Equine Centre as a Technician (0.6 FTE). This is a maternity cover position, covering 3 days a week, which are currently Monday, Thursday and Sunday. This is an exciting time for the Equine Centre as we see continued development and growth. This role will provide practical learning opportunities for students, including demonstrating skills to groups of students and supervising students as they carry out yard duties and enrichment sessions. In addition, duties will include supporting with equine husbandry, record keeping, and health monitoring, exercise, ensuring horses are cared for to the highest welfare and industry standards.

The successful candidate will need to be a genuine team worker and communicate effectively, working in a flexible and busy environment. They will need to have relevant practical (mucking out, feeding) and riding (walk, trot, canter and jumping) experience, and a minimum of a BHS Stage 3 qualification.

This role will be required to work weekends, bank holidays and during college holidays

As a College we are required to undertake various Safer Recruitment checks as set out within the guidance from the Department for Education Keeping Child Safe in Education. We require all staff to undertake an enhanced Adult and Child Workforce DBS Check and to register with the DBS Update Service. Please note: From 28 November 2020 the government implemented changes to the filtering rules, and we have been instructed that we cannot accept any update service checks on DBS certificates that have been issued before this date. Therefore, a new one must be completed with City College Norwich.
