Experienced, reliable groom required for a small private competition yard in North Northamptonshire. We have four competition horses (16.1–17.2hh) competing in show jumping, dressage, eventing and TREC, plus one pony. The yard has excellent facilities including a 60 × 20 arena, canter track and horse walker. This is a hands-on role suited to someone organised, practical and able to work independently. The position involves sole charge at times and would suit a confident, capable person who enjoys working to a high standard.

Responsibilities include:

• Full daily care of horses
• Mucking out and maintaining high yard standards
• Turnout and bringing in
• Horse walker management
• Preparing horses for exercise and competition
• Riding/exercising horses if capable (not essential)
• Field management including hay, water and poo picking
• Care of household dogs and a small number of alpacas

Our small animal veterinary surgery is located on site, and there may occasionally be opportunities to assist with basic support tasks such as taking messages, receiving deliveries or helping during holiday cover.
