Yard, riding & Intervention Coach/operative (Equine, Functional & Life Skills) I‑Pegasus CIC & Grove House Stables Equestrian Centre Based at: Grove House Stables, Misterton I‑Pegasus CIC, in partnership with Grove House Stables Equestrian Centre, is expanding its nationally accredited alternative education provision.

About the Role This is a full‑time position (4 days per week, including one weekend day) working across term time and school holiday programmes. You will deliver equine‑based learning, functional skills, and personal development sessions to children and young people with a wide range of needs, abilities and backgrounds. You will work as part of an experienced, supportive team committed to high‑quality education, safeguarding, and positive outcomes for every learner.

Essential / Preferred Qualifications We welcome applications from individuals who are: Essential

  • Confident working with children and young people
  • Skilled and safe around horses, with the ability to teach a range of ages and abilities
  • Positive, patient, adaptable and committed to inclusive practice Preferred
  • British Horse Society Stage 2 Coach (or working towards)
  • Qualified teacher (Primary, Secondary or Further Education) or equivalent experience in education, youth work or SEND provision
  • Experience delivering alternative education, therapeutic or equine‑assisted programmes Further training and professional development will be provided for suitable candidates.

Requirements

You'll be an accomplished rider, qualified to BHS/ABRS/UKCC standard for the equestrian coach .

DBS checks are required as is accreditation for the Coaching Pathway for Riding for The Disabled Association and Approved Riding Schools

A natural passion and enthusiasm for supporting important community programmes such as BHS 'Changing lives Through Horses' is a real must! We want to recruit individuals who have an authentic interest in helping horses and humans to jointly fulfil their potential.

A flexible approach to working hours and a willingness to cover at short notice from time to time.
