We are a private estate, we have 2 small horses in work(light hacking)and 1 retired, and conservation herd of 7 Exmoor ponies, with a breeding program in place. We also have 3 pet sheep and 4 chickens and a well behaved family Dog.

We are looking for someone who can take care of the animals this includes, walking the family dog on the grounds daily, day to day care and stable duties to care for the horse's. Look after the sheep this includes, daily checks and feeding and bedding up when needed. Chicken's to be kept clean and eggs collected daily, and daily checks on the Exmoor ponies that live out 24/7

There will be an opportunity for riding for the correct candidate, if you don't wish to ride that is also fine, in hand work is essential, also an opportunity to do inhand showing with 2 of the Exmoor Filly's.

The Job isn't just animal care there are other jobs around the estate to be done some of theses jobs include ; filling bird feeder, mowing with ride on mowers, washing estate vehicle, keeping the gravel kept nice, painting fencing etc

Your also be responsible for informing the estate steward when feed, supplement are low or equipment needs replacing, over see the farrier, physio and keep hay and straw stocked up and order regularly.

When horse are in over winter at night there is share responsibility of late night check on the horses, this is shared with the estate steward throughout the week and weekends, Care for the Family dog will also be required if they are out in the evenings or away on Holiday but again this is shared.

We looking for someone that can work alone and be productive when other staff are busy and also be an asset to the team.

We are a quiet more steady paced place to work then a lot of yards, but some days are still busier than others, If you are looking for a busy yard with just horses this is not the Job for you.
