This is a brilliant opportunity for a flexible and versatile all-rounder who would like to combine the overall smooth running of a household alongside horses in a beautiful family home in Oxfordshire.
The housekeeping side of the role includes:
- Organising and maintaining the household, including furnishings, plants, food, and clothing
- Planning and cooking healthy meals for the family
- Stocking household supplies and groceries
- Light cleaning, wiping down, and tidying in addition to a cleaner
- Collecting children from school or activities and providing safe, educational supervision. Occasional baby-sitting.
- Helping the children to learn lifeskills like chores -- cooking, recycling, pet care, and laundry
- Making household purchases and doing returns
- Booking appointments and services.
- Maintaining inventories of furnishings like linens and silver
- Caring for the family dog, including feeding, clearing the lawn and visits to groomer and vet
- Answering door and deliveries as required
- Running errands as necessary, such as dry cleaner's, grocers, post office
- Laundering and ironing a bonus
- You may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as necessary
- Maintaining a fun, supportive environment, good coordination and scheduling with other team members and the employers
- Must be well organised and proficient with computers, including Excel, Word, Amazon, Ocado and email
The groom side of the role is shared with a part-time groom and a groundsman. Three horses live out the majority of the time. Duties include:
- Tacking up and excercising horses a couple of times a week.
- General yard duties - checking rugs, water, hay, tack cleaning, grooming and keeping things tidy.
- Ability to drive a 3.5T horsebox or trailer.
- A good knowledge of basic equine first aid is required.
The salary is competitive and depends on experience.
