**We are looking for a freelance / part time, sole charge groom to help at our beautiful yard in West Oxfordshire. **
The role is ideal for someone who likes a peaceful environment, looking after a small number of competition horses to a very high standard.
This job involves covering days off (usually Wednesdays and Sundays), plus helping at competitions, but more hours are available if wanted. The ability to flex up to 7 days a week for occasional holiday cover is also required. In return, we can be flexible with your time off as long as we have notice. The ability to house and dog sit occasionally would be an advantage.
A high standard of individual care for the horses is really important, so we are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and has good attention to detail. This is primarily a non-riding role and involves all the usual yard duties in a well-defined routine, plus keeping the yard spic and span. The ability to lunge and /or long rein would be a bonus, as is the ability to drive to a horsebox.
This job is all about quality not quantity - the hours are generous for the work
You will be working in sole-charge, so experience and common sense are vital, although further training is available if you have the right attributes and a desire to learn. You will need to be self-motivated, conscientious and 110% reliable, honest and trustworthy.
In return you can expect a satisfying job with great working conditions, and lovely horses. You will be highly valued and treated as an integral member of the team., and we will do what we can to help you achieve your goals.
